Part 3

"Mrs. Malloy?" someone said into the phone when Buffy answered. She was about to tell them that they had a wrong number when she remembered that she was Mrs.Malloy.

"Ma'am?" the person said into the phone.

"Oh, yeah. Speaking" Buffy said quickly. She was at home, in the kitchen warming a bottle for Will. Angel was sitting at the table going over some architectural designs for the new hotel he was building in town. Will was sitting happily on his fathers lap, banging the on the contractors work plans with his small hands. Angel ignored the baby's interruptions and kept working.

"What? Oh my God," said Buffy into the receiver after a few moments. "Are you sure?" she asked worriedly. Angel, alarmed at his wife's nervous tones looked up at Buffy and eyed her quizzically.

"All right, thanks for telling me, I really appreciate it. But what would they do if they-," Buffy paused for a moment, she had obviously been interrupted.

"Oh God, I really didn't need to know that!" she exclaimed loudly, hanging up the telephone.

Seeing the frightened look on Buffy's face, Angel was alarmed. Buffy was never scared so something must have been seriously wrong. Standing up and still cradling his son, Angel walked over to where Buffy stood, leaning against the counter worriedly. No sooner had Angel gotten over to her side when she quickly but gently grabbed her son and held him tightly.

"Honey, whats wrong?" asked Angel with a concerned look on his face. Buffy looked up at him, her face white with shock.

She swallowed and finally managed to speak. "Its Will. Th- the Watchers Counsel just called. Apparently, our son is a very powerful baby. He will be over two-thousand times more powerful than the Master because he is the child of the slayer, and on top of that his father is-was a vampire. Buffy paused, then continued.

"The man on the phone said that the demons would like nothing more than to take Will, raise him as their own and make him immortal when the time is right."

Angel, recovering from this information, squeezed Buffy's shoulder. "It's late. Tomorrow I'll call and make arrangements for more security. In the mean time lets get to bed. " With the baby, of course" said Angel quickly.

Buffy nodded vigorously.

.

Angel had kept his word and had hired thirteen new security guards. Even though the house was carefully guarded, the baby's parents had both insisted that Will was always near either Buffy or Angel.

A new slayer, Faith by name had taken over Buffy's old job of slayer. Buffy was able to quit her patrolling, which meant that nearly every night the baby had two strong, watchful parents near him.

One evening Angel tucked Will into his crib, made sure that guards were in the room and walked across the hall and to the right into the room he shared with his wife.

"Angel" Buffy said, glancing up from the issue of 'Cosmopolitan' she had been reading. She was sitting comfortably tucked between the large, white linen sheets on the four-poster bed, with a small reading lamp on the bedside table that she had been using for light. She threw her magazine on the floor and looked over at her husband.

"Yeah?" asked Angel, leaning back comfortably on the bed. It was always great after a long days work to relax.

"Somethings wrong. I don't know what, but I have a feeling." said Buffy, a small frown burrowing on her beautiful face.

Angel reached up and turned off the lamp. He wrapped his arms tightly around her. She laid her head against his chest and closed her eyes, melting into his warm embrace.

"Honey, you've had a whole lot going on, your tired and stressed out from work, and on top of all that you have a small baby to take care of. Your doing a wonderful job. Of course your worried, so am I, but don't you think that we're doing everything that we possibly can? " Angel said softly.

Buffy knew he was right. Logical, sensible Angel. Buffy knew something wasn't right, she was sure. But for the time being, she knew that Angel was right, that she should relax and go to sleep.

Buffy cuddled closer to her husband, unaware that going to sleep could cost her sleeping son his life.

Part 4

Bruno, a security guard that was placed in front of the infant's crib, smiled to himself.

Bruno was half human and half demon. He sensed that the child's asinine parents had fallen asleep. Quickly, he mumbled:

"Hache, le blanch, christo"

Hurriedly, he picked up the baby. The spell he had just chanted would keep the parents asleep for hours. He picked up the child and drifted into the night.

.

Alexander Harris gasped. He had climbed up the side of the house to his God-son's room, in hopes of startling the kid's parents. But instead he saw a funky looking security guard disinigrate into thin air with the baby.

He had also heard the guard mumble something in a foreign language. Xander knew damn well that the guard probably wasn't an idiot, or he wouldn't have been able to pull this off. He had probably, no definetly put some kind of spell on Will's parents.

Xander ran back down the driveway and jumped into his Ford Explorer. While Driving down the gravel drive-way, he remembered something.

He had heard Giles mumbling about some new demon's place at an abandoned where-house about five-miles out of town. He decided to check it out.

Ordinarrily, Xander didn't think about planning things out. He was too arrogant and cocky to bother with such things. (Typical male). But now it was differant. A small, innocent litte baby might suffer. He had to think this out.

But Xander was the brightest light on the tree, he wasn't really sure of how to plan an ambush. That was Buffy's area of expertice.

But Buffy was probably conked out like a vegetable laying next to Alive-Boy.

Xander opened the glove compartment and pulled out a pistol. (Hey, this was 'Boca del Infierno', you couldn't be too careful.) He made sure it was loaded and slipped it into his coat pocket.

Pulling up about fifty feet away from the wherehouse so as not to make to much noise, Xander got out of his vehicle.

Slowly and quietly he walked around to the side entrance of the shit-hole of a building that was probably infested with blood suckers.

He knew the area well. When Xander, Willow and Jesse had been kids, they would bike up here and play. That was, of course, when the biggest concern he had was the Bronco's making it to the super-bowl. Now he worried about creepy-crawlies beating the hell out of him.

Xander reached the side entrance and was surprised to see no one gaurding the door (or slidey thingy that wheeled shut, whichever you prefer).

He stood and looked inside. He saw the security guard holding the baby before a large green demon with a big head.

Xander didn't waste any time. Quickly he fired three shots at the demon. It tumbled to the floor in a heap. Will started crying, and the security guard (who Xander just knew Angel would beat the living hell out of) looked up sharply.

Xander shot him too. He aso crumbled to the floor in a heap, dropping the baby. Xander dashed over to the hard concrete floor, picked up the baby, and ran for it.

When safely in his car with the baby on his lap, Xander tried to comfort the kid. Didn't help.

But Alexander Harris was shocked. He had actually done something right. His parents would be shocked.

No, wait. He coudn't tell his parents about the slayer/vampy thing. They would put him in a mental institution. Again. Hell, when he was seven and had told them that he wanted to be super-man, they had taken him too a shrink.

Finally he pulled up to the mansion and got out. He had quite a story to tell.

.

Epilogue

Everything was working out so far. Xander had driven back to the Malloy's place, and considering the fact that he had a screaming baby on his lap the entire way there, that was a major achievement.

He had gotten to the driveway and driven up to the front. The security guards knew him and opened the gates to him. He strode up to the porch and into the living room.

His hunch had been correct, Buffy and Angel were still out cold. Will calmed down, probably because he was in a familiar environment.

Xander raided the fridge (hey, he had saved the day, it was his right. Besides, he was Xander. They expected him to.)

He grabbed a three-liter bottle of coke, a bag of chips, and a bag of snickers bars that he knew Buffy hid from Angel, and a bag of Hershey bar's he knew Angel hid from Buffy. (Both parents were chocolate fiends)

Xander settled down on the couch with his food and godson. An old Grace Kelly movie was blaring on the tv.

About an hour later, he heard the stairs squeak. Probably mommy dearest checking on her kid.

He heard a small shriek and running. Probably Buffy running into tell Angel about the baby's disappearance. He heard footsteps pounding down the stairs.

Buffy and Angel thumped down the stairs, Buffy wearing boxers and a t- shirt, Angel wearing just boxers. They saw Xander holding their kid.

"Xander what the f*k do you think 'yer doing?", shouted Angel angrily. He walked over and grabbed Will.

Xander wanted to savor the moment. "Oh, I 'da know. Just saving your kid from an occultic sacrifice, killing a demon and raiding your refrigerator."

Angel was not amused. Neither was Buffy. If he wanted to live, he would have to spit it out. He did.

Speechless and shocked, Angel and Buffy sat down, Buffy holding her small child securley in her arms.

Finally Buffy managed a word. "Wow. Thanks. You really pulled yourself together." Angel just nodded.

Buffy handed her now wide awake and gurgling baby over to it's father. "I'm goin' to bed." she said, standing up and walking towards the stairs.

"Xand?" she asked pausing at the foot of the stairs.

"Yeah?"

"You know how pleased and happy I am with you and all, but" she said sternly, turning all the way around to face him.

"If you ever, ever, ever take my chocolate again, you're a dead man."
